Why is Disney canceling its ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ film?
Disney’s “Pirates” reboot is still on track to hit theaters on July 16, but fans who’ve waited patiently for the film to finally come to theaters may not have gotten their wish.
According to Variety, the studio’s Hollywood Reporter reported that the studio is canceling the film, which was originally slated for July 17, after “studio execs were unable to come to terms with Disney on the film’s release date.”
The film was originally set to hit theatres on June 11, 2019, but the date was changed after Disney announced that it would be releasing “Dead Men Tell no Tales” instead.
The movie, starring Bill Skarsgard as a fictional pirate who escapes the clutches of Captain Jack Sparrow, will now hit theaters in December 2019.
Disney announced in February that the film would debut in 2019.
